HYROX Spain Calendar 2026/27: where and when you are going to suffer
Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid and Malaga. Dates, venues and a review of the Stockholm World Cup, where Spain snuck onto the podium.

Valencia has already passed and the HYROX 2026/27 season in Spain has only just begun. If you are thinking about signing up, or signing up someone without asking them (classic), here is the calendar and a few tips for choosing well.
Next stops
- Barcelona: from November 11 to 15, 2026, at Fira Gran Via.
- Bilbao: February 6 and 7, 2027, at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre.
- Madrid: from March 17 to 21, 2027, at IFEMA.
- Málaga: in mid-April 2027. The exact dates of each category and schedules are published on the official HYROX Spain website. When an event lasts several days, not all categories compete on the same day, so look carefully before booking the hotel, and then what happens happens.
How to choose a venue, honest version
- Barcelona: the closest in time. Perfect if your training plan is "I'll train next week." Less perfect if you haven't really trained.
- Bilbao: February in the north. You arrive at the pavilion cold and you leave cold, but inside. Ideal for those who want to start the year with a clear objective.
- Madrid: several days of competition at IFEMA. There are so many people that you will always find someone slower than you. It is a statistical consolation.
- Málaga: April, sun and the real possibility of finishing off with a skewer.
It is the headquarters with the best suffering-reward ratio. Plus, it gives you plenty of time to train.
Singles, doubles or relays
If it's your first time, think carefully:
- Individual: all of you. The eight kilometers and the eight stations. Maximum glory, maximum suffering.
- Doubles: You both run all the kilometers, but you share the work of the stations. It's a good way to start and a litmus test for friendship. If you survive the wall balls handed out, you survive everything.
- Relays: four people who share the route. It is the most social option and the most recommended to convince the friend who says that he "is not up to that."
Meanwhile, in Stockholm... In June the HYROX World Cup was held in Stockholm, at the Strawberry Arena. The champions of the Elite category were the Canadian Ryan Douglas (55:23) and the British Saskia Millard (57:15). And there was a Spanish accent on the podium: Roberto Viciedo was third in Pro men with 55:53. Additionally, along with Pedro Antonio Toral, he was second in Pro doubles with 50:44. To put it in context: eight kilometers of running and eight stations in less than 56 minutes. There are people who take longer to leave IKEA on a Saturday.
The usual advice
Don't choose a venue because of the atmosphere, or because of the photos, or because your friend is going. Choose the one that gives you time to train.
Calculate backwards: If you have eight or ten weeks ahead of you, you can prepare wisely. If you have two, you can prepare yourself psychologically to suffer. HYROX does not forgive improvisation, and final wall balls even less so. Sources: HYROX Spain and official results from the Stockholm 2026 World Cup.
